Did you know you can find remnants of the Berlin Wall in downtown Vegas? No, not a replica, but a real-life authentic slab of the Berlin Wall. And strangest of all it can be found in a part of town that tends to be a little more desolate nowadays. Furthermore, you’ll have to venture into the men’s restrooms to see it! (If you’re female you can asked to be esorted in by a security guard to see this piece of history). If you’re after some free cash you could try your hand at one of the free pull slot machines at either Binions or The Four Queens. The winning amout is $2,500, but hey it’s free to have-a-go! And if you’re not a winner just head to the million dollar display in Binions where their photographer will snap your pics next to a cool million. Down the street over on East Fremont are some of the most opulent downtown bars Vegas has ever known, including Park, The Commonwealth and the lesser known Laundry Room, where you will need an exclusive phone number that you will have to text with your name and reservation details in order to get into this private room. Since it’s theme is the Prohibition era you’ll find a variety of whiskeys on the drinks menu starting at around $15 each. The venue seats less than 30 people so you’ll want to text ahead of time!

A little further down the street is the historical and longest running hotel and casino in Vegas, the family-run El Cortez. Opened in 1941, it was so successful that it attracted the attention of Bugsy Siegel, Meyer Lansky, Gus Greenbaum, and Moe Sedway, all whom purchased it in 1945, and despite being upgraded and renovated it remains true to form.

Across the street from this is the fairly new addition that is Downtown Container Park, a shopping area and kid’s play ground made up of shipping containers! The art gallery, stores and it’s scattering of bars and restaurants are all worth a visit and there’s even a stage for bands to play while kids can rough and tumble on the grassy area or explore the giant fort, so its the perfect place for families!

9. Visit the strip’s newest boutique hotel, SLS at the north end of the strip. SLS stands for “Style, Luxury, Service” and once you step inside you’ll see its certainly what this casino is aiming for.

8. Stroll around some of the newly opened bars and outdoor establishments such as Parktober on East Fremont Street and Container Park in Downtown Las Vegas.

7. See the wild horses of Nevada. Even though technically they can’t be seen roaming the city itself, it is less than a two hour drive north of the 95 to catch a glimpse of these beautiful creatures.

5. Zipline over Bootleg Canyon up to 60 MPH. It has over 1.5 miles of zip line over the course of four runs and will require a bit of a hike to reach the top!
